Remnants the cold weather left behind....

We have always taken great pride in our front yard. It's not a large space..but we attempt to make the most out of what we have. From the looks of it now...we have some work to do. Florida experienced a cold front for two weeks straight with the temps reaching the high of 35 degrees on a couple of days. This is what is left of that front....
This tree had large bannanna leaves that would completely shade the light into my kitchen window. It was relaxing to watch and to hear the rustle of the leaves rub against each other from the ocean breeze. I am not certain it is salvageable.

This is what is left of the plant grouping located under our flag. It looked idyllic at one time...I might be able to save the bush but the other plant is toast!

I think I will have to rip up all of the plants and purchase new ones. It's a shame these didn't survive. They were purchased as 88 cent starters 3 years ago. They were almost fully grown and encompassed the entire base of the tree. So sad.....
Looks like its time for new plantings for the entrance way.

I'll even have to replace the planter for my welcome basket. Oh well....out with the old, in with the new!

Hope you are enjoying your winter season...mine has past and I now have the air on!!!!
Ugh...

Which one should I keep?!?!?!?

I thought this lamp was so pretty. It's a tad smaller in height than the other two lamps I purchased.
I had to take a double look when I saw this price. How incredible. It made the lamp that much more attractive!

View of dining room as you come into the house. Notice the red plate...I think the lamp helps distribute the color in the dining room and the family room.

I put the tassel on the lamp. It was not sold that way. I just like tassels. Call me crazy!

Again...it was a steal! Love that price.

This bronzed finished lamp is the largest in size. I thought it contributed to my hanging light fixture over my table. It was substantial and didn't require anything else on the table top.
What is your opinion? Should I replace that lamp with another one?

Kirklands (one of my favorite stores) was having a clearance blow out on just about everything the other day. I went with an original plan to purchase one lamp...mind you just ONE lamp...but ended up leaving with three. I am not sure which lamp would look best on my new Bombay chest. Which do you think?

Incident at the Walmart

Walmart is awesome....it seems as if I can't go one day of my life without visiting the lovely neighborhood Wally-Mart. This morning, I was there bright and early (before 8:00 AM-and on a Saturday, too!) As I was leaving the store and quickly heading to my car...a strange incident occurred. I was struck in the nose with a small white pebble! Where did it come from?

Did this guy kick up some gravel as he was speeding away on his bike? It was 20 something degrees outside....maybe he was trying to get warm!

Did I make these guys mad at me in the milk section? I attempted not to stare at them...but you have to admit...it's hard not to look, right? Were they practicing target shooting? Maybe they shot a spit ball at me!

Oh yeah, maybe it was this nice lil' feller....he was trying really hard to stay warm. You know these boots are all the rage in the Antartica!

I did cut these lassies off at the pass trying to get out the doors. I didn't want anyone to think that we knew each other. How embarrassing!!!!
Well....after taking a moment to look at my surroundings I noticed that I was hit several more times by a small white hard ball! Much to my surprise it was sleeting/snowing. Can you believe it? Ice forming and falling from the sky in Florida!!!! Global Warming my butt!!!!! :)

Thinking of you!!!

Santa came....Santa came....Santa came to my house!!!!!

Santa came to our house this year and dropped a load of loot....we must have been awful good!
Please note the amount of "Toys" that we had. Remember that there is no child under the age of 17 yrs in our home!!!!
Zach received his 'customary' nutcrakers. He is about to run us out of house and home with them. Each Christmas becomes a chore in where to place each one. He now has over 50!

Santa filled our Stockings with toys that poop jelly beans! They are hilarious. Mine is the cow.
She sings "Jingle Bells" as she poops her brown jellies!
Tony has started a collection of Bobble-head Star War Characters. Darth Vader will join the place of honor with Tony's Yoda Bobble Head.
Zach received his 'coveted' Playstation 3' this year. I am not sure why we had to get ANOTHER
game system. This one is placed in the living room with the TV. Ugh...now I'll never get to watch a TV program. Thank Goodness for DVR!!!

Zach was so enraptured with his Playstation that he couldn't even take the time to pose for the camera!

Zach and Tony received Jeff Dunham dolls. (Yes, I said dolls!) They talk and give their famous lines at the touch of a button. Tony's doll is Peanut and Zach's is Achmed the Terrorist.
Silence! I'll killlllllllll you:)
A closer look at the dolls. Can you believe that Zach and Tony are beyond thrilled to have these bad lil' boys??!!??! Men and their toys!
Zach recieved his normal grinch boxer shorts. This is a tradition. The only thing different is that he refused to model them for the camera! (Over his PJ's...where is your mind going?)

Kiss Army is alive and well in my house. Those boys love to ham it up. They play around with this kind of stuff all of the time!
Zach received his Senior Ring. He was elated. Unfortunately, it didn't fit well. This ring runs small. I am hoping and praying the company will let us resize it and not charge an additional fee.
A closer look.
Mamma got a ring, too!!!! I must have been gooooooooood!!!! I love it. Isn't it gorgeous?!
Look at the details on the shaft. Amazing! Tony is a freaking genious! He can have all of the toys in the world. Just bring me the jewelry!!!!:)
I also received this Bombay Chest as an Anniversary/Christmas/Birthday gift. When I told Alan that I received a chest for Christmas he said "Tony is getting you a boob job for Christmas?!?!?"
....that boy is a perv. Hee Hee!
That is all for now. I am closing down this book of a post. My fingers are tired and I am sleepy. I think a nap is in order.
I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and the very best of New Years.
Love,

Christmas Eve in our home!

Our Christmas Eve is full of traditions. We start off by having dinner (usually Spicy Chicken wings...this year we opted for take out Chinese!!) and then have a Christmas Devotional. This is a must. It must always be centered around Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. Then after the devotional...we check out the Christmas lights around various neighborhoods. (We took a raincheck on that tradition this year...Hmmmmmm....sounds like the guys were anxious to start the rest of the festivities!) Then we come home and open a few gifts to each other. This is the way it has been our whole married life!
Zach's gift to Tony was a Halloween mask. Pretty scary stuff. They boys will play with this stuff all year long! Tony immediately lit up when he saw Halloween gear.

This is a different look.

Whoa nelly...this is pretty frightening!!!! Now just wait...I bet my Christmas groom will try to kiss me with that thing on his head!

There they are....the lights of my life. How in the world can you be sad around these two cut ups?

Oh yes...the bloody stump of a head just brings out the Christmas spirit, don't ya think?

Awwwww, ain't they cute?!?!?!?

Zach received his 'first toy' of Christmas. A KISS Mr. Potato Head! Doesn't every home need one of those?

He LOVES it! Who wouldn't?

Zach getting into the spirit of a true Kiss Army soldier!
Every Christmas...we have to get new Christmas pajamas. Tony ALWAYS gets Grinch pj's.
He relates so well to that character!!! (Although...through the years his heart has grown three sizes and he is starting to enjoy the season and all the people of WHOVILLE!)
Zach loved his plaid pj's and new house shoes. Doesn't the goofy ears just complement the whole ensemble?
Even Bailey and I got into the act. We sat back and enjoyed a good ol' Christmas movie before bed.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
