I want this car!!!!!!

Ok...I am going to confess. I am a car enthusiast. All right. I said it out loud. Or rather I wrote it out there in blogland for all to see. I have been a closet car enthusiast for years. I love to hear the roar of a big engine. I get quivers when I see large chrome wheels. I live for the thrill of the purrrrr of a big ol' engine rev up next to my large 'boat' that we lovingly call the 'family mobile'.
We have an auto show coming to the convention center this weekend. I am so excited. I LOVE auto shows. Awesome. I have sweet talked my husband into taking me so I don't feel like such a goober. He could care less about cars. (Honestly...what is wrong with this picture?!??!) Anyway...I have had my eye out on the new 2010 Chevy Camaro's. I want to test drive this puppy in a bad, bad way. I am just not so sure how they will pry my fingers off of the steering wheel once the drive is over...that's a story for another day. Just thought I would confess my obsessions with everyone out there so I don't have to hide anymore. There...I've done it. I am a fee woman! :)

There they go again....

The boys were at it again today. They created a new mannequin that they can hang. They weren't content to leave it in the house this time....no...they had to use an old shower curtain tension rod and hang it up in our entrance way. The neighbor kids are going to be screaming their lungs out. I fully intend to hear shouting, cussing, screaming and see pee running in the streets in the morning. It wouldn't even surprise me if we don't have the association send us a nasty gram asking us (not so kindly) to remove the creature. Ugh!!!! I feel so bad for my neighbors!

Silly, silly boys....

My boys were playing around in their Halloween stuff last night. They were trying on different masks, wigs, bloody body parts...needless to say they were in heaven. I heard lots of laughter from the garage and went out to investigate. This is what I found. I had to take some snaps.

PS...The Mannequin man has been delgated to the garage. I refuse to have him in the house anymore. I have heard kids screaming in front of the house for days. My Bailey girl had barked herself hoarse (Should I really use an animal term?) for days barking at the creature. UGH!!!!

How many more days till Halloween is over?

This is the site that I viewed as I walked out my door in the dark of early morning.
I wish I could capture with my camera how dramatic the sunrise sky is. The colors are indescribably magnificent.

I headed to the clock tower park to start my daily laps. The flowers are beautiful.

This is the latest 'lake' in the neighborhood...it was originally a soccor field before the heavy rains. These birds are feasting on ample bugs and worms.

This past Sunday was a nice break from the hustle and bustle early Sunday mornings usually present. Because General Conference didn't start until noon, I had the morning off to do something that I love doing...I went for a long walk. I got up before the light of day and found myself with camera in hand to capture the sunrise. Hope you enjoy taking a picturesque walk with me!

Tony and Zach have been searching for a mannequin for years. They even placed an add on Craig's List! Finally fed up...they resorted to the world wide web for help. They found this suggestion to make your own. It simply consists of wrapping packaging tape around your body part several times. You start the layers by placing the sticky side out and wrapping
(mummy like) around the area. Then once that part is done, go back over the sticky side of the tape with more tape- only this time the sticky side should be down. With the multiple layers it forms a hard shape. Once the wrapping is complete, cut a seam down one side. After you have several parts together, they can be tapped together! Voila! Instant Mannequin.

My wonderful, ingenious husband went a step further and placed pc piping inside the body.
This way it should last for a few years. He is also considering adding foam stuff inside the various body parts like the legs. It will firm up even more. We had no idea how real the body looked until this morning. Zach, ever the practical joker, placed the mannequin in the office looking out the window. He placed the mask and shirt over the head and torso. I was amazed at how real this looked. Creepy. My Bailey girl freaked out. Is that a good way to put it? Or should I say...she lost her ever loving mind!!!! I can't even get her to go into the office. I figure my boys will be making several more of these wonderful little creatures before the Halloween season is over. (Oh, joy!!!)
